Laptop Buying Guide (2020)

Hi!, welcome to our blog. In this blog we give you some suggestions which may help you while buying a laptop. We keep it simple and informative.

In market we have lot of laptops, but no laptop is perfect for everyone. While buying a laptop make sure that, you should know, for what purpose your buying a laptop. For-example gaming (or) video editing (or) coding (or) photo editing (or) entertainment (or) for project works (or) for business work etc... As we said no any laptop is perfect, we have to choose which is perfect for our needs. If you get confused don't worry, read complete blog it will definitely help you.

We separated specifications in 7 different parts. 

1.PROCESSOR

Processor is very important in laptops, but you should not go for higher processor if you dont need, its just a waste of money. For normal users (like watching movies, coding, making Excel sheets & browsing) intel i3 processor is enough, it is capable to run your normal tasks flawlessly.

For users who play games, they should go for i5 processor. It is capable to play most of games but i7 will be the best. For gamers i5 processor is entry-level if you can afford i7 go for it. i9 processor is for the users woh do video editing and all heavy stuff. 

Note: generation of the processor also make lot of difference in performance. (8th generation is minimum)

2.DISPLAY

As we know display is very important. Don't compromise in display quality, so display resolution should be high. Bcoz if the display resolution is low (it has be above 1080p minimum), while watching movie or work on laptop for hours it effects eyes feel strain. So, visually it should be great experience. If you are a gamer you have to go for display which gives higher refresh-rate (higher refresh rate give smooth gaming experience <60fps normal>).

3.KEYBOARD & TRACKPAD

Majority of people mistakes in this step, they check processor, battery, display but they don't know the importance of keyboard. If keyboard is not fine or cheap quality, after some time of usage you don't get interest to work. And note that all the work has to done through the keyboard and trackpad. So, choose the keyboard which have better key travel and a broad trackpad with better built quality. And make sure that the keys are back-lit, it will help you a lot in dark conditions.

4.PORTS & WEBCAM & AUDIO

Our next step is to choose laptop which has more number of ports. Here we have to choose based on, which ports are essential for us. But in our suggestion, your laptop must have, Type-C (thunderbolt), 3.5mm headphone jack. These 2 ports will make your work done easily.

Webcams in lot of laptop are terrible. But I personally don't think more about webcam. But if you are a person who use webcam all the time like online meeting or similar stuff then you can search for better webcam laptops else you can buy third-party Webcams also. In our suggestion you should not waste your money to get a higher quality inbuilt webcam. It's just a small suggestion in our personal experience.

Audio, in my situation, i use headphones all the time...so i don't consider it as a major specification. It up-to you. 

5.STORAGE & RAM

RAM should be based on your usage. But even though you are a normal user, the minimum RAM has to be 8GB RAM, if you can afford 16GB RAM just do it. But if you play games a lot, don't buy less than 16GB RAM laptops. 

Storage, simple suggestion for storage is SSD (Solid State Drive). If you can invest in laptop which have SSD it will be amazing. SSD is more than 10 times faster than HDD. But minimum capacity should be 256GB storage.

If you can't afford SSD integrated laptops, make sure that HDD should be atleast 1TB.

6.BATTERY

This part of laptops does not have any correct information. But we have some tips, if brand claims 6hrs of battery backup, that means actually it gives battery backup around 3½hrs to 4hrs. So, 4hrs of battery backup is good in laptops but more will be better. If your charger has fast charging technology, it will be best.

7.OPERATING SYSTEM

Operating system (OS), mostly people buy Windows becoz it is easy, and we are very useto with Windows. You have to buy a window laptop if you play games but if you are a normal user and you want a well built portable laptop then you must consider MAC OS laptops or simply MACBOOKS. If you can invest in MacBook that will be great. MacBook are the best machine in laptops.

If you decided to buy a windows laptop, you should buy latest version of it. 

FINALLY

If you are a student try to buy ultra books. Ultra books are very light weight and thin, so it will be easily portable. Not only for student normal users also. Another major advantage in any brand ultra book is battery backup. Ultra book give good amount of battery backup. But these are not for the gamers or video editors.
