Types of Batteries Used In Electronic Devices

Now a days we are dependent on batteries mostly as in mobile phones, laptop, electric vehicles andother electronic devices. But do you know? What are the types of batteries we have and how they work. So, in this blog we explain you about batteries which are used mainly.

Types of batteries

1. Nickel Cadmium
2. Nickel Metal Hydride
3. Lithium Ion
4. Lithium Polymer

1. Nickel Cadmium

* Nicd battery.

It was discovered in 1950.

These batteries are mainly used in automotive electronics. Like electric vehicles, aircrafts etc.

* Maximum voltage per cell is 1.2V.

Pros

It is rechargeable or reusable.

Number of cycle durability is approximately upto 2000.
High performance and long life.

Charging temperature 0°C to 45°C and discharge temperature -20°C to 65°C.

Capable to use in temperature at -40°C to 70°C.

Cons

* Cadmium present in these batteries, which is highly toxic and dangerous to environment.

It is even highly dangerous to human skin and eyes.

Low Battery backup and low power density.

2. Nickel Metal Hydride

NiMH battery.

* This technology is available since 1967 effectively.

These batteries are mainly used in laptops, electric cars etc.

Maximum voltage per cell is 1.2V.

Pros

These batteries has more than twice the capacity of Nicd to store the energy.

These has no memory effect.

These batteries doesn't contains cadmium, so it is less harmful to the environment.

These are safe when compare to Nicd.

Charging temperature 0°C to 45°C and discharge temperature -20°C to 65°C.

Capable to use in temperature at -30°C to 100°C.

* Number of cycle durability is approximately upto 2000.

Cons

These batteries are highly self dischargeable.

* Decreases in the performance in high temperatures.

3. Lithium Ion

Li-ion battery.

It was developed in 1985.

Mainly used in mobile phones and laptops.

Pros

High energy density.

Very low self discharge rate.

Max voltage per cell is 3.6V.

Very low maintenance.

Charging temperature 0°C to 45°C and discharge temperature -20°C to 60°C.

These batteries are more safer than Nickel based batteries.

Capable to use in temperature at -40°C to 60°C.

Cons

Lithium ion batteries are not robust as some other rechargeable batteries.

Low change cycles approximately upto 500.

These batteries are high in cost.

4. Lithium Polymer

Li-Po battery.

These batteries are mainly used in laptops, mobile phones, electric cars and many other electronic devices.

Pros

These battery is about four times more energy density than Nickel based battery.

High energy density

It changes fast compare to others.

These are light in weight.

These batteries are more safe.

Maximum voltage per cell is 4.2V.

Charging temperature 0°C to 50°C and discharging temperature -20°C to 60°C.

High battery backup.

Cons

Over heating issues, which may result in unwanted fire.

These batteries are too costly.

Low energy density than the Li-Ion.

Low change cycles approximately 500.

CALL DROP! A PROBLEM WITH VIVO SMARTPHONES

VIVO CALL DROP ISSUES This is a very quick and short blog about my experience with every Vivo smartphone ever I had.  I will share my personal experience with you without degrading any brand name. Personally I use Vivo mobile so, I am the best person to explain the problem with their smartphones. Particularly I'm focusing on call drop issues in Vivo mobiles. As I said I'm using Vivo mobile, before me, one of my friends has bought a Vivo smartphone and he is also facing the similar issue (name him as X). And then other friend bought it recently and he is also having similar issue. And many of my friend circle has same reaction towards it. Let me explain you clearly.  The friend who owned Vivo device before me Mr.X was having a issue , the call gets automatically disconnected in some particular time duration. It is like a pattern, if first disconnects in 30seconds then the rest of the attempts will be same, they disconnect on exact 30th second, till he reboots his de...
