APPLE EVENT - APRIL 2021
Apple has launched total of five new products on 20th April 2021. In this event the introduced iMac, iPad Pro, Air Tag, Apple TV 4K and purple variant colour of iPhone 12. In this blog we will be discussing about those products briefly.
From last year they started conducting their launch events online because of the pandemic. I appreciate the way they shoot and edit the whole video and release it on youtube and Apple website.
As usual this video is also well presented. The video opens with beautiful greenery. Tim cook just giving introduction to the event and briefing about how they are working on nature friendly products constantly.
After that intro they unveiled the products,
- iPhone 12
- Air Tag
- Apple TV
- iMac
Now lets see how each product overview and discuss and compare them with the previous generations.
iPhone 12 - Purple
I think it has not much to discuss about, they have just launched a purple variant of iPhone 12 series. Actually it doesn't make any sense to me, they did it very late in my opinion.
Air Tag
Apple has introduced the Air Tag. Air Tag is the device which works as a tracker. Actually I like the design of this deviice, its very small and cute looking. You can tag Air tag to any thing, and you can keep track on that with your mobile seemly. To be frank I like the device but let me know are you really gonna buy such things and use in real life. I never and price is also a big deal in India. It costs around Rs.3,200 for one and Rs.10,900 for four units air tag. And you have to pay extra for straps which hold the air tag. The product is great and looks are also great but pricing is high which is not surprising because ...it's Apple.
APPLE TV 4K
Apple TV has upgraded from its previous generation. Regarding Apple TV, now it supports 4K dolby vision. And now you can get better experience while watching your favourite shows or movies. You will get a Siri. This is built on the A12 bionic chip. It supports HDR. This costs around Rs.19,000 in India.
iMac
This was one of the product which has hype around it. And people had high expectations on this device. Actually we should appreciate Apple for launching such a thin iMac, thanks to the M1 chip which is most powerful and efficient chip ever from Apple. Because of M1 chip, it is possible to built devices more thinner. I don't know why Apple is launching tons of different colour variants. It does make sense for iPhones but for Mac I don't like it. And when it comes to design another mistake Apple made is the bezels. It should be black, white bezels make the display just not perfect to eyes. Black bezels looks much slim and pleasing to eyes. Let's talk about the performance, as we saw on M1 based MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are beast in performance, and now iMac will be join this list. Actually iMac has much bigger space for heat sinking, so I'm expecting it to be much powerful than the MacBooks. And you have three choices in keyboard which is provided by apple inside the box. These are the things which I found interesting and important.
