Biggest Scams By Smartphone Brands And Their Fake Pricing | OnePlus Nord CE Is Not Available In India | Why?🤔
Brands With Fake Variants
Hello Everyone!
Introduction
The biggest secret behind the success of every smartphone brands in India is aggressive pricing. People in India shows more interest towards the cheaper smartphone. This doesn't means Indians don't show interest in specs. It means better smartphone with better pricing. Indians do accept any brand smartphone, if the pricing is aggressive than the other competitors. That's reasons lot of Chinese companies launches devices specially targeting Indian market.
In the area of pricing brands are improving and giving more in less price which is good for consumers. But we saw few hidden problems which we have faced in past like ads, flash sales etc. All the media and consumers rises their voice against them. So, brands came under pressure and rectified their mistakes.
Because of aggressive pricing they have to make few cost cutting which is acceptable until they are putting thing in public and keeping details transparent with their customers. But this time the scam is hidden in marketing. To attract people they brands are displaying the fake variants which are not available.
My Experience
Recently OnePlus has launched Nord CE. And we can clearly see in their launch event and ads that the price of base variant starts from Rupees 23k. Which definitely attracts people who really wanted to buy OnePlus device because their brand value.
So, one of my friend wanted to buy it and he was all set to book it on the first sale, but the base variants was not available. And suggested him not to buy the bigger variant, because that is not worth the money. So he drop the plan to Nord CE.
Now in India technically starting variant is 8GB RAM & 128GB ROM which costs around 25k Indian rupees. So here clearly shows how brands are manipulates customers to buy their bigger variants which is not worth the money. The only difference both variants has is RAM but the price difference is 2k.
This is not only about one brand like OnePlus, previously MI also did the similar thing and many also did the similar thing at some point of time.
Opinion
Now it may looks like a small issue and no one rise their voice against. Because the influencer who and tech YouTubers are become like a ad running account for brands like this. No one is going to change it, even this issue will solved new problems will take place. So, We as a consumer need to know about these facts and we must able to buy the product which fulfils our requirements and try to avoid get attracted to ads or hype around any device.
Now if we keep silent because it doesn't seems bigger issue brands will continue these kind of practices and in future this may leads to a bigger scams by these brands.
We can't blame other than brand itself. But I feel like govt. should take step forward and improve authority who can listen these kind of complaints against brands take action more effectively. If not govt, we as a consumers need to have the basic information or knowledge about smartphones and their specs and also have the knowledge to compare different smartphones and buy the device which is worth for us.
Note: There is no intention of defaming any brand or defending any brand. The brands which are mentioned in this blog are not the only one which committed these kind of scams. These names are mentioned because I personally experienced it recently.
