IC - Integrated Chip (PART-1)

ICs.....This blog contains about Integration Circuits also known as IC. This blog totally contains the below information.

• What is an IC?
• How IC is useful?
• History Of IC
• Evolution of IC technology
• Types of ICs based on Different Aspects
• Avdavtages and Disadvantages of ICs

WHAT IS AN IC?

IC (Integrated Circuit) is a chip based circuit, in which all the electronic elements and compounds both active (diodes and transistors) and passive (resistors and capacitors) are fabricated on a thin slab of semiconductor base.

IC is also known as microchip or microscopic electronic circuit.

HOW IC IS USEFUL?

Electronic circuits are developed using individual or discrete electronic components with different sizes, such that the cost and size of these discrete circuits increase with the number of components used in the circuit. To conquer this negative aspect, the integrated circuit technology was developed.

Every electronic device or equipment has a specified IC embedded in it. IC is just like a brain to an electronic device. In this era there's no any electronic equipment without an IC.

HISTORY

The integrated circuit technology was developed by Jack, the first IC was developed in the 1950s, and thereafter, Robert Noyce of Fairchild Semiconductor solved some practical problems of this integrated circuit.

EVOLUTION IN IC TECHNOLOGY

Evolution of IC's is truly based on the size and number of scale of integration.

Considering the different IC's with size, there are:

1) Small Scale Integration (SSI).
2)Medium Scale Integration (MSI).
3)Large Scale Integration (LSI).
4)Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI).
5)Ultra Large Scale Integration (ULSI).

Types of ICs based on intended applications:

1)Analog Integrated Circuits.
2)Digital Integrated Circuits.
3)Mixed Integrated Circuits.

General types of ICs

• Logic Circuits
• Comparators
• Switching ICs
• Audio Amplifiers
• CMOS Integrated Circuit
• Voltage Regulator ICs
• Operational Amplifiers
• Timer ICs

Types of ICs based on Classes

• Thin and thick film ICs
• Monolithic ICs
• Hybrid or multichip ICs

Types of IC packages

• Through Hole Mount Packages
• Surface Mount Packages

ADVANTAGES OF ICS OVER DISCRETE CIRCUITS

ICs are made on a small size of chip which can be hold on our nail.

In such a small size of base every element is been fabricated , as in Discrete Circuit every element is connected through different external connecting wires and this makes a huge mess and requires a lot of space.

As well as ICs cosumes less power and less in weight. Oprrating speed is also reliable.

There are some disadvantages too...

In an IC- inductor, tranformers can not be embedded as those elements are more heavier and large in size than IC.

There are more disadvantages when we go in deep.

We will publish more detailed and clear information of each type of ICs in upcoming days.

MOST EXPENSIVE PURCHASE EVER | MY FIRST APPLE PRODUCT | MACBOOK PRO M1 🍏

MACBOOK PRO M1 Hello everyone! I bought Macbook Pro M1 as my first laptop. Previously I have used PC which is based on windows. This blog is all about my experience with this whole process of purchasing a Laptop. I will share, why I decided to buy a laptop and what makes me to buy a MacBook. This blog is all about my first experience or first impressions only. HOW I DECIDED TO BUY MACBOOK? Actually first I was searching for perfect laptop in windows around  the price of 40k, but nothing was fulfilling my requirements and then I had increased my budget to 60k to 70k. When I have a budget of around 70k, I started searching for premium laptops.  Because putting so much money on laptop I wanted to buy one which will porovide a longer battery life and constant performance for years. As we all know when it comes to premium products first name we get in our mind is Apple (for me atleast). But the problem was budget, where my budget ends their the price for old model of MacB...

Infinix Note After 10 Days Review | Is It Really Worth Buying Infinix Note 10

Infinix Note 10 Hello Everyone! Infinix has launched Note 10 on 7th June 2021 via Flipkart. This review is completely based on personal experience. One of my friend purchased this device a 10 days ago and using it extensively. I have taken every point which he shared with me about this device, both negative and positive. Pricing : buy link Infinix Note 10 starts at the price of Rs.11,000 with 4GB RAM & 64GB ROM and the higher variant costs around Rs.12,000 with 6GB RAM & 128GB ROM. Now this review is divided into 3 major parts and ends with my opinion where I my thoughts on it. 1. Performance 2. Battery 3. Usability 4. My Opinion

MOTO RAZR 5G - REVIEW

MOTO RAZR 5G Motorola has launched MOTO RAZR 5G foldable smartphone. Motorola Razr 5G is upgraded version of previous generation Motorola Razr foldable smartphone. For any technology first generation has few bugs and cons, so companies changes or fix problems according to customers feedback.  Click on the link  Price: Rs.1,25,000/- In this blog I share my opinion on Moto Razr 5G. This blog is divided in two points one problems which are fixed, point number two still need to be fixed, In simple words pros and cons. PROS I personally like the concept of flippable phones like Moto Razr or Samsung Galaxy Z Flip more than foldable tabs like Samsung Galaxy Fold. So, for me Razr is one of the exciting concept in smartphones.  Firstly the design and build quality is great, while holding mobile in hands you can feel the premium finish because they used glass at back panel and metal at side frame. The Razr is very slim when unfolded and even while folded it ...
